Game maker isn't a good tool for team work.
it is so easy to make games with it so you shouldn't need a communities size team to work on it, maybe a just a few spriters and beta testes. plus GMC is mostly comprised of noob and 12 year olds who only edit tutorial examples.

From my experience, doing any kind of large collaborative work requires the group to have worked with each other before as a bunch of smaller groups. Otherwise, no decisions get made and people just want to noodle around.

@Zargy Thanks :D

@Monocledsardine I will probably post another article soon suggesting some possible solutions. Want to think about it and write down some stuff first though.

Some good thoughts here, but where are your solutions? You point out quite a few problems, but where are your answers? What can we do to make these community games better?
