Please tell me GMKing hasn’t done this

The once mighty appears to have fallen [gmc topic has been deleted, screenshot below].  Has GMKing the team behind the YoYo Games wiki, GMCast and MarkUp really been reduced to collbarating with gap-to? Apparently not.  Robin wasn’t aware of this post until I asked him. “Good Lord have mercy.    I feel the need to shoot someone.  I offered to host them  /me won’t be show running”

GMKing and GMTV to part company

GameMaker Blog can exclusively reveal that Game Maker TV is to split from Game Maker media group GMKing.  Both of these organisations have been troubled of late with very little emerging from the brands of GMKing this year which include MarkUp, the GMcast podcast, GMTV and the former wiki (now integrated with the YoYo Games website). When GMTV joined the GMKing network, announced shortly after the release of GMTV episode 4 in July last year, the Read more…

GMKing’s 7th Podcast released

GMKing have published a new podcast – their third of the year.  Recorded in time for a week after their previous episode (but not released until now!)  Once again the show is hosted by Robin Monks and GameMaker TV host Dan Eggers who are joined by GMKing’s Eyas Sharaiha. Issues discussed include whether or not Construct is a viable alternative to Game Maker, the history and future of the YoYo Games wiki,  a review of GMTech’s last issue (released December 2008) and life at the GMC.

Gmking Audcast #6

GMking’s 6th podcast made its way online today with hosts Danny Eggers and Robin Monks. The production once again featured interesting things from around the Game Maker world. It featured things such as: Russell’s Quarterly 5 GMNews looking at their market GMhut Suggest Questions for GMTV to give to Sandy This edition of the Audcast ran for about 8 minutes in length while covering important topics at a reasonable rate. The quality of the Audcast Read more…

GMKing Podcast #5

I refuse to call this an ‘Audcast’ but thankfully this once-in-a-blue-moon GameMaker discussion has re-branded itself GMCast after taking the name from a rival to GameMaker TV which never materialised. Listen as Robin Monks, Dan Eggers and myself make fools of ourselves while talking about topics such as the best GameMaker games of 2008, the security issues effecting GameMaker and YoYo Games’ instant play and a summary of the events last year. Cringe at the Read more…

4th GMKing Podcast released

GMKing’s sporadically released GameMaker Audcast Podcast is back with a fourth episode. Dan Eggers, a writer here and creator of GMTV, joins Robin Monks for a dicussion on GameMaker news from the past month. Here are the topics covered in the second audcast of 2008: Cage Match: 00:50 Loads of Game Maker mags: 02:18 G3D Effects library: 04:45 GMTV Merge with GMking: 06:26 Game of the Week: 7:27 This is the shortest ever podcast from Read more…

How does the GMking staff stay in touch?

The recently announced GMking blog has published a new post today, shedding some light on the ways their staff collaborates via instant messengers and other forms of communication. The GMking staff is extremely geographically diverse, which makes communication and decision making processes much harder.  Many of our staff have an 8 hour or more time gap (which probably explains why some of us are such night-owls ;).). The blog also has a few other posts Read more…

GMTV now part of GMking

Starting today, Game Maker TV (GMTV) will be joining the GMking network of sites and services. The name “GMTV” will be kept, and Dan “Danny” Eggers will continue to act as the Executive Editor of the popular Game Maker video podcast. As part of the agreement, GMking will provide resources and services to GMTV necessary to continue and improve upon their core goal: providing high quality, information-rich, audio-visual media to the Game Maker community. Additionally, Read more…
