GMTV launches new website, episode 5 screenshots included

YYG/GMPedia wiki merge now official

YoYo Games have announced that the rumoured merge between their wiki and GMPedia, a community project by GMking is now official. Earlier, the GMking blog confirmed the merge. All 600 articles from the original GMpedia wiki will be migrated onto the YoYo Games wiki. This also includes articles not related to Game Maker, but computer programming in general.


How does the GMking staff stay in touch?

The recently announced GMking blog has published a new post today, shedding some light on the ways their staff collaborates via instant messengers and other forms of communication. In the past few weeks a couple of new GameMaker magazine associated blogs have opened. GMKing on openness: In a post on the recently launched GMKing network blog Robin Monks, a co-editor of MarkUp, gives a brief insight into the decision making process behind the magazine. GMTV now part of GMking

Starting today, Game Maker TV (GMTV) will be joining the GMking network of sites and services. The name “GMTV” will be kept, and Dan “Danny” Eggers will continue to act as the Executive Editor of the popular Game Maker video podcast. As part of the agreement, GMking will provide resources and services to GMTV necessary to continue and improve upon their core goal: providing high quality, information-rich, audio-visual media to the Game Maker community. GMKing under DDoS attack

The website of GMKing, the creators of MarkUp, is currently unavailable due to a DDoS attack. Downloads of the recently released MarkUp 14 remain unaffected however.


3rd GameMaker Podcast

The third episode of GMking’s Game Maker audcast has been released, nearly a year after the second. The show is, as before, hosted by MarkUp editors Robin Monks and Eyas Sharaiha. Topics discussed include the re-writing of the GameMaker runner in C++ (including “glog” abuse!), the insecurities of GameMaker and the release of the obfuscator. GMKing Podcast to return

GMKing.org are set to relaunch their GameMaker Audcast “soon”. Two episodes of the podcast were released in June last year, however they no longer appear to be online.  The podcasts included discussion of the latest GameMaker developments and community topics.
