The Official Game Maker Community is currently offline whilst the forum software is upgraded. The upgrade had been scheduled to begin on Tuesday 15th June but started about an hour ago.
Russell Kay has stated that the GMC will be down for “2-3 days” during the upgrade but no reason has been given as to why the downtime period will be so long.

I’m super excited about this. I love the new IPB software and it has some really nice features. I like to mobile version, but apparently there is an app that works even better.
Even though I have an Ad Blocker, I find it kind of annoying that they added ads on the forum.

You never notice how much you visit GMC until it’s down, eh?
Kind of sad when you think about it. At least us mods have a plausible excuse, legit or no. I really have a nigh-OCD compulsion to click my GMC bookmark at any given moment.
Haha, yes. Even though I don’t really visit there all that often, I always have it in a tab and have a quick look.
If that’s the default IPB skin then IPB did a bad design job. IPB 2 looks so much more well designed. 🙁
It’s the default skin with color changes by YoYoer Mike Dailly.
The mobile version looks great, however. (I don’t think he’s found its stylesheet yet)
I’m sure everyone will get over it, anyway. As someone mentioned, the same happened with Facebook (even though I think Facebook looks better than it did).
I’ve not been involved in the skin this time around. But i’m sure once the upgrade is completed there will be a topic to voice your suggestions.
However, keep in mind that we’re not responsible for the skin layout, thats the default IPB 3.x skin. We’re just doing a color edit.
The light green text strains my eyes. Chronic, if you read this, I think that’s a legitimate concern. Other than that I don’t really care about any of the changes.
Yesterday it was announced by KC that the upgrade would be performed on the 15th. However later in the topic, i posted a reply with the new date (today).
Err… No Reason given… except for the reason given…
The Database format is different so the time is spent in upgrading the many years of forum entries.

@Russell hadn’t seen there had been a glog post until now and given the two recent comments I presume this hasn’t been online too long.
