GameMaker Scope Magazine reaches a new level of professionality

The recently launched GameMaker Scope Magazine (previously GameMaker Magazine) has been getting more professional issue by issue. But their new “hiring” post in the GMC indicates otherwise. The post lists positions available as usual, with an application template, with some odd bits, such as “1. All conversations and organizing will be done over the forums and if applicable, MSN/Yahoo IM.”. Nothing much here, until we hit their “news update”: In most recent events of GMS, Read more…

A funny GM comic

After my comments earlier this week about the pointlessness of puzzles in GameMaker publications I was pleased to see that comics do have a place in GameMaker magazines. A funny and topical GameMaker themed comic – hurrah! Taken from GM Weekly #3

I know you are guilty

Come on, own I up – I know it was you. The only reason you’re here is because you were searching for a Game Maker crack, like so many others in the past. A quick glance at the posts listed in the “most popular this fortnight” box at the top right of every page on GameMaker Blog shows that certain topics always seem to be very popular – those which mention hacking or cracking of Read more…

Why should I ever visit your site?

I took my daily visit to the GMC today to find a new PM in my PM box. It was yet again a mass PM to get people to join another ‘co.nr’ based site. The PM stated: “Excuse me, If you have a team assembled please upload your games past, present, and future games at http://retrogaming.co.nr/ and maybe sign up for one of our quarterly competitions, this is a new site so please be one Read more…

Do not merge this post

I won’t go into details about the original complaint as you can read about it using the link above and it isn’t particularly interesting. However, the following post did bring a smile to my face: Genius.

First hardcopy GM magazine announced

The Skyfire Insider is the first hardcopy GM magazine (it’s one of those things that you can touch in real life!): instead of reading it at your computer, read it anywhere you want to! I have already ordered my own copy. I wonder if they ship to Finland with FedEx or a traditional newsletter… See here for a print copy of MarkUp from July last year Update: The newsletter will only be delivered to the Read more…

Read the full blog post on the GMB wiki

…Wait, what? Why should we read a part of your magazine (fyi: GMT’s out) from your wiki? Shouldn’t it go the other way: have a sneak peek at the wiki, not the magazine? This doesn’t really make any sense. You see that there’s an "interview" in the magazine that you really want to read, then download it and find out you actually have to go to the magazine’s wiki to see it instead? Please, GMTech, Read more…

GMB is now officially “immature”!

Who wants to print this out and frame it? Addition: And the person claiming that this blog is immature just happens to be flaming me in the comments 24/7.
