YoYo Games Announce ‘Win Big’ Competition Results

The results of the Win Big competition hosted by YoYo Games have now been published. The competition ran for 3 months between May and July earlier this year. Entrants were required to use GameMaker Studio to develop a game for Windows 8, and then submit their entry to the Windows Store. The entries were judged throughout August. GameMaker Studio ‘Win Big’ Competition Announced – $120,000 Prize Pool

YoYo Games have just announced their biggest competition to date, with cash prizes valued at $35,000, and additional software prizes worth up to $85,000. The ‘Win Big’ competition requires entrants to use GameMaker Studio to create games for Windows 8, submit them to the Windows Store, and have them pass Windows Store Certification before 28th June 2013. Upcoming GameMaker Competitions

It’s been a long time since YoYo Games last hosted an official GameMaker competition. All the way back in May 2010 the “Discovery” themed Competition 06 was held, with winners including an entrant who has since been employed by YoYo Games themselves. The last official GameMaker competition I entered was so long ago that my submission was actually the first game I’d ever completed!

YYG results by Thursday

Sandy Duncan has written on the YoYo Games blog that the results of YoYo Games’ competition will be announced “NO LATER than 5 pm UK time on Thursday”. The co-operation themed competition was YoYo’s third and had attracted over 275 entries.
