Tutorials and Examples to return

The long closed Tutorials and Examples forum at the Game Maker Community is set to re-open soon according to a forum moderator.

New posts in the forum, which previously enabled GameMaker users to post “good, clear, concise and efficient tutorials and well documented examples that can be of great use to other Game Maker users”, were suspended after the forum was closed for a reorganisation in August.

In the past all new topics required moderator approval to ensure that the tutorials provided were of suitable quality.  As of yet there is no word on what changes, if any, will have been made by the time the forum is re-opened.

What do you think?

  1. It probably inferred reorganizing each tutorial. The type of tutorial, it’s structure, maybe even new subforums, what version of gm, d&d or just gml, etc.

I think they made it to make finding what your looking for a lot more easily.

  2. If subforums are now there, I’m pretty sure moving all the old tutorial topics to the relevant subforums would be a long, boring process.

  3. But still… An admin goes on, they go to the forum settings and check or uncheck any setting they want to change. I have used IPB before and it is really easy to change stuff. Maybe it is alot more complicated then this but im just saying.

  4. I really don’t see how it takes this long to make a forum change. Unless they are actually modifying the software to get what they need, this should only take a day or two to complete.
