It has been a year since the first (and only) release of Game Maker under YoYo Games Ltd. A year which has seen the rise of YoYoGames.com, plenty of registration problems and, as is so often the case with Game Maker related matters, a lot of controversy.

The MarkUp game maker magazine has released its 12th monthly issue making it the first Game Maker magazine to last this long.
The 50 pages contain only 3 reviews, but a good number of editorials, tutorials and couple of decent game development journals.

Sandy from YoYo Games has hinted at the introduction of a revenue sharing scheme for games hosted on their website.

It appears this is the first post on GameMaker Blog or gmnews about this site which actually astonishes me.
GMArcade is a new website that enables you to play a selection of Game Maker creations from your browser, in a similar fashion to YoYo Games’ “Instant Play” feature through the use of a Java Applet.

…Although this one is actually decent awesome. Russell’s Quarterly doesn’t really have that much of an focus on Game Maker, but game design instead, with reviews of the games Hunter’s Island, Fedora Spade, Death Worm and Shush. It’s also a 72 page read.
