  1. Thanks a lot for doing another giveaway! You do a great job motivating fellow game maker users with your up-to-date blog that teaches neat techniques that teach users of all ages. Thanks for doing this.

  2. Giving away stuff for free is easy, but giving software like this away takes more effort and more of a giving heart. Thanks for giving away such great prices. Much appreciated.

  3. My husband and I are using GameMaker Studio… What a powerful tool and amazing, approachable, and friendly team. Thank you so much for everything you do! And happy anniversary!

  4. Very cool 🙂 Considering this blog is mainly dedicated to GameMaker, I’m actually a little surprised Scirra offered a prize for the giveaway, but well 🙂
Since I myself am a GM user (but I only have the Standard edition), I’m not sure what I’d do with a Construct 2 if I won one (resell it?) But I would be very happy for a Master license of GM:S!

  5. I’m hoping for prize no.3! I’ve heard great comments about the book, but I haven’t read it yet. Though getting GameMaker again would be awesome too! I used to use it a lot back before 8.1.

  6. Hey,
I have a Nephew whose 9 and LOVES game development. I would love to be able to help him along in his quest to become an awesome game developer! Love what you guys do! Grats

  7. Just wow. I have been dreaming of making games since I was 7. Nowadays I have enough knowledge to MAKE games on Game maker, but the price for Studio has been too high for me :S Even, if I don’t win, thank you for your other blog posts and income reports, because always when I am so stuck I want to quit, I think about how successful you are and smash the problem 🙂

  8. True Valhalla, you’re truly an inspiration! It’s not enough to dream. Risks have to be taken. All those who have achieved their dreams, are those who have taken risks. You’re making a living creating games and that’s all because you took risks. It probably wasn’t easy, but it has gotten you where you are right now. It is often said that the few people who achieved great things did so because they were lucky (one in a million). Your a great example of someone who is living out their dream. You are proof that it’s not impossible. Thank you for being an inspiration and your contributions to the Game Maker Community.

  9. This is a great way to make indie game developers get their games on stage by providing them with the necessary tools for success. Thanks for the giveaway!

  10. TV – you are an inspiration to us all! When will we see another one of your entries into the GMC Jam again? Keep on keepin’ on!

  11. Happy anniversary for Gamemakerblog! I’ve been reading this blog for so long, and I find this blog to be very inspiring for an indie game developer like me.

  12. Game Maker games are the most inspirational for me. They don’t have the budget of big game developers and they’re often rough around the edges but a lot of them overcame that difficult first hump I’m still struggling with and all the adversity and stigma that comes with amateur game-programming and ended up with a worthwhile product. Good luck on the giveaway and thank you for the opportunity.

  13. I only just recently discovered this site when looking for resources for Game Maker but it has been a great tool. Heck of a giveaway!

  14. You gents are providing excelent software for games development and we as community shall use it in great purpose 😀

  15. I think this is a very thoughtful move from Yoyogames and yourself to give back to what seems like a great community here. Not only will you make many people happy here, but you are also showing respect to the community, and have gone the extra mile with the help of Yoyogames and Scirra. Respect is one of the most important themes in everything. Whether you show respect to an army leader, or simply say thanks to someone for helping you out, it is a key value in life that we all must share.
So join me in saying thank you to GamemakerBlog, Yoyogames and Scirra, in giving us such a fantastic opportunity, and showing us respect, that we shall now reflect back to you.
    Thank you!

  16. Wow! What an awesome give away Matthew! 😀 Being your generous self as usual 😛 this is going to give a very big boost to developers who want to create their own games and dream projects! 😀 on behalf of everyone, I say thank you Matthew! 😀 And good luck to all! I’m sure if you win you’ll be very very VERY happy! I look forward to seeing the masterpieces you create with your prizes! 😀

  17. Wow, This blog is really awesome! I don’t really care if I win or not, but to be honest if I did I’d want the book on making money with HTML5. I already got the module a while ago and I’m looking forward to using it properly! Good luck everyone else!

  18. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to win a contest so badly. Thanks for doing this and congrats on the 7 years!

  19. Awesome! This is a great way for people to get a good start on using Game Maker. …Well, at least if they win a Master edition 😛 Anyway, all the prizes are super awesome (I would love winning even the digibook, even though it’s ‘only’ a book :P) and congrats to GMB for the anniversary! Thanks for doing this and the whole blog thing, I hope I win something >:)

By the way, I wonder how you found me on twitter? :O

  20. This is a fantastic giveaway! I really hope I win. I’ve just recently got interested in trying to develop so of my own games as a hobby. I’m in my 30s with 2 kids, so I don’t have a lot of time or money to put into this new hobby, but software like Construct 2 and GameMaker are great easy-to-use, inexpensive alternatives to the other tools out there — yet are powerful enough to create games that can be shared with other — or even sold commercially. I hope I can get to the point in my hobby where my talents would allow me to sell my games and make a little extra money for my family and to support my hobby.

If I won this, it would get me well on my way to doing that! Thanks guys!

  21. Great Competition and it would be a great prize for our Indie Company and many others who are using Game Maker. We are using Game Maker to create our first Indie Game for multiple platforms with our first focus being mobile devices. We aim to release it commercially in Q3 2014. Game Maker is a great tool, we even talk about it in our development video for our current project on our website. It’s a great tool to begin with, even for people without Game Design/Programming qualifications. All you need is a little patience and drive. Its great for professionals as well, I love some of the big titles that has come from Game Maker including one of, if not my favorite Indie Game : Hotline Miami. The tutorials are great and beginners can use the drag and drop functionality of it to create some great little mini games, but then of course you have the aid of Game Maker and the Community Forums to help you write your own code. The prize is not only great for people who want to get into development, but it would be a fantastic prize for our Indie Company needing to upgrade so we can release our game on multiple platforms especially since our funds are low. We wish the best of luck to everyone out there and you should definitely get in on this competition if you are serious about making games. Its a great tool.

  22. I love this site! Seriously, if you’re using Game Maker and haven’t stumbled across this site, then you’re doing something wrong. It’s very helpful!!

  23. Thanks! Keep coming with contests like this, it gives people a chance to win great software and it spread the words about Game Maker and Construct!

  24. The pages said to leave a meaningful comment. Here’s mine. The greatest gift a man can have is the ability to translate his dreams into a reality he can share with others quickly and clearly. Companies like YoYo Games and Scirra have given us the tools to do just that.

  25. You guys are great to run this. I’m a (very) casual game developer and I’d never be able to make games at all if not for Game Maker, so these chances to upgrade my tools free are brilliant 🙂

  26. This is great! An excellent chance to us, game-makers in Indonesia. Let’s bring joy to everyone using games we made! 😀

  27. I’m impressed by the amount of people who are interested in these tools, many people in the environment of video games and many more to being interested. If you are developing and want to participate in something great, contact me. Many luck to all.

  28. Thanks for this giveaway to Game Maker Blog, YoYo Games and Scirra! You’ve made interest for me in game development, and not only that, but you’ve also helped me a lot with such amazing community! I look forward to another amazing seven years of this blog. Cheers!

  29. $100!!! Just what I need to buy the final components for my time machine that will let me do more game dev and play more games. Congrats on the ongoing success!

  30. This giveaway is a great opportunity for me as I’m trying to found a little society with a friend and for now we are only developing mobile applications requested by third-party but all this suite of software could allow us to develop some great stuff.
    Thank you guys

  31. I think I should subscribe to the gamemakerblog. I would have almost missed this giveaway if I would have seen TV’s status update on the GMC. 🙂

  32. GameMaker allows me to create my first videogame and now he gives me the oportunity to win awesome prizes… Really, thanks for everything!!!

  33. Coffee, newspaper and the GameMakerBlog are important parts of every morning 😉 happy birthday!
