The deadline for entries to YoYo Games’ third competition has passed with 285 games having been entered.
Obviously I haven’t looked at each and every one of these submissions, but here is my pick of some of the best games and most played games that have been submitted.

This Game Is Art
This contest ran from May 26 to June 26, 2008. Entrants were to create a game that was art, with no definition of art provided.
Our judges each chose five favourites in order of preference, and then we did the math.

Flash game website iWanna Play is holding its first game making contest for budding indie game developers. The theme of the competition is “opposites” but other than that you are free to do as you wish, providing the game has been made specifically for entering into the contest.

There are just four days to go until the deadline of GameMakerGames.com’s “This game is art” competition.
As well as vouchers of an unspecified type and denomination for the winner of the contest the top three entries will also earn their creators the full commercial version of Immortal Defense, a popular shareware game made with GameMaker.

There was much annoyance at the fact what defines Civilization, there was a total of 260 entries into the competition, the deadline was increased after someone at YYG thought it would be a good idea to try and move the whole website over to a new server - near the end of the contest. But [...]
