Game Maker 8 Logo Contest Entry Deadline

28 days ago, Sandy Duncan announced that he would be holding a competition to see who could make the best new logo for GM8. Earlier today, he announced that the time for submitting your entries has now come to a close. The winners(s) will be picked out of the 500+ submissions that were entered by the creator of Game Maker, Mark Overmars, and announced some time this weekend.

What do you think?

  1. I thought I had a decent chance at winning, but I guess if 500+ people entered, my chances are now probably very slim. I am excited to see a new logo, and I hope they make a good decision. I also hope they announce it on time 😀

  2. Sandy already said that they aren’t changing the name of Game Maker.

From a marketing perspective, changing the name of a product is one of the hardest and worst things you can do. All of your reputation down the drain.

What have you heard?! That is a ridiculous suggestion and would go down as the biggest mistake YYG have made so far.

Game Maker is Game Maker. How many users found the program by Googling “Game Maker”. Lots I’d bet. I did.

Besides “YoYoGames Game Creation Tool Blog” doesn’t sound very good. 😛

  4. …I wonder if they plan to rename/re-brand the product…which would be a really bad idea considering the SEO of “game maker”.
